My son uses this mainly for online multiplayer gaming (Modern Warfare 2 to be exact). He was having a fair amount of lag with the old adapter. This upgrade was the solution. Being able to take advantage of my “N” speed network has made all the difference. He now as 4 bars consistently on the connection check and the lag is gone.

I first purchased the MadCatz adapter and lost a day in my life trying to get it to work. I have a network set up in my home and twin boys with their own Xboxes. After returning the MadCatz piece of junk, I ordered the Xbox N adapter from Amazon. It arrived before I was even expecting it and I put in the CD in my Xbox as instructed, turned my Xbox off and back on and then hooked up the new N adapter and bingo. It worked and works really well. Do not try and save $10 bucks like me only to waist a day. Purchase this and keep your life simple.

I was assured by the folks at Best Buy where I purchased this product that I would have “no problems whatsoever” getting it to link up with my G router. I will be sending my second one back first thing tomorrow and swapping it out with the “cheaper, older” version so that my son can take advantage of x-box live downloads and such. Specifically the disc would simply read “media disk”, and would never install the drivers, and the green light would simply blink and never find my network. Very frustrated with it, and I would encourage anyone with an older G router to be very wary of purchasing this product!
